Semi-Independent, Residential Care
Responding to emerging needs of young people leaving care, Daffodil Care developed two semi-independent residential centres which caters for young people from 16-19 years of mixed gender. These services are located in the urban areas of Artane and Swords and provide real life opportunities for young people transitioning from care. Through the provision of independent apartment living and a ‘do with not for’ approach, young people are actively encouraged to prepare for independence through a comprehensive programme.
Aftercare
Daffodil Care have worked to develop a nationwide network of aftercare provision consisting of both residential and comprehensive outreach services delivered nationwide. Our residential Aftercare services are fully staffed 24/7 providing timely support to vulnerable young adults as they progress to independent living. Our nationwide network is testament to the support provided by our teams. We believe in support at every step, our onsite staff are accessible to residing young adults 24 hours a day with our aftercare teams dedicated to ensuring young adults get both the support and experience required in preparation for independent living. Located in Artane, Dublin 5, the centre is a large, detached, two-storey house close to a wide variety of services and amenities. Semi-independent living is supported through four completely self-contained apartments and communal areas. Catering for 16 to 19 year olds, Hollybrook provides a unique approach in supporting young people in preparing for leaving care.
The house has been upgraded and adapted to the highest design standards to create unique, semi-independent living accommodation contained within the supported therapeutic environment of a children’s residential centre. Facilities include spacious communal living rooms, games room and kitchen along with a private garden and BBQ area.
Hollybrook provides an individually tailored approach to young people offering a wide range of programmes focused on preparing them for leaving care. Hollybrook has a highly skilled and experienced team who build upon residents’ interests and capabilities to foster confidence, self-esteem and maturation.[/vcex_feature_box][vcex_spacing][vcex_divider color=”#a8a8a8″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row visibility=”hidden”][vc_column width=”1/4″][vcex_spacing size=”50px”][vc_single_image image=”741″ css_animation=”appear” alignment=”center” img_hover=”grow”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vcex_feature_box heading=”Willowbrook” content_width=”100%” media_width=”0%”]”Willowbrook” first opened its doors in March 2015. It is located in Swords, Co. Dublin. The centre is a large, detached two storey bungalow, situated on a one and a half acre site, which is fully landscaped, and is close to a wide variety of services and amenities. Willowbrook is a semi-independent residential centre which contains six apartments for young people, communal areas and staff quarters. Willowbrook caters for 16 to 19 year olds and referrals are taken from around the country. The purpose of Willowbrook is to prepare young people for independent living, leaving care and adulthood. The design of the centre reflects its unique purpose and function, with all apartments fully self-contained to include a double bedroom, kitchen and dining area, bathroom with shower and hallways, other facilities include two communal living rooms, a large communal kitchen and extensive gardens with picnic and BBQ area.
Willowbrook provides an individually tailored approach to young people based on a needs assessment. The programme on offer broadly focuses on areas such as; family identity and social relationships, education and training, practical independent living skills, health and keeping healthy and emotional wellbeing and behaviour. Willowbrook is staffed by a highly skilled and experienced team who build upon residents’ strengths and goals for growth in order to foster resiliency.
Aftercare Outreach Support is an important component in successfully transitioning young adults to independent living. ISO (International Standards Organisation) is an independent, non-governmental international body which creates and measures standards across several business sectors. They give world-class specifications for services and systems, to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.
Daffodil Care was awarded ISO 9001:2015, in 2018, after being successfully accredited to its predecessor 9001:2008 since 2013.
The quality management system adopted, and externally and independently awarded certification confirms Daffodil Care’s ability to demonstrate an ability to consistently provide services that meet statutory and regulatory requirements. This certification also enhances customer satisfaction through the effective application of the quality management system, including processes for continued improvement and the assurance of conformity to all requirements.
