Hear from Our Team

“I started working for Daffodil Care Services in 2008 as a Relief Social Care worker. From there, I became a full time Social Care worker, Social care Manager and I am now Wexford Regional Manager.

My journey with DCS has been instrumental with regard to my professional development. Throughout my time with the organisation, I have worked with exceptional colleagues and mentors.. DCS have always paved the way for professional growth, with ample opportunities for promotion. If you are looking for a career which offers extensive expertise in the area of Social care, dedicated mentors and vast promotional opportunities, then DCS is the company for you.”

Emma Dempsey – Regional manager, Wexford Region

“I started my career in 2001 working in residential and community services with a voluntary provider before moving to a private provider in 2007. I joined Daffodil Care Services in 2012, opening their fourth mainstream service in Artane in Dublin, their first outside of the Wexford region. This service was a great experience to be part of the setup from the start ( literally a building site) and after a little over a year we made the decision to develop the centre into a Semi-independent centre for 16 to 19 year olds to meet the needs of an existing client group and an identified gap in service provision preparing young people for leaving care. This experience was typical of my time with DCS where they have been very open to ideas and provided the platform, opportunity and support to develop bespoke, unique services tailored to gaps in national service provision. I was promoted to the role of Operations manager in 2013 with responsibility for day to day operations across 6 centres and with a remit to establish further services. As the organisation continued to grow and develop nationwide the need for additional senior management support and oversight increased as well as capacity for line management of additional departments, projects and functions. I was successfully appointed to the role of Assistant Director of Service in 2015 and then Director of Operations in 2019. Throughout my time with DCS I have been offered great opportunity for personal & professional growth and development and seen many of my colleagues follow a similar trajectory or be able to diversify and establish other services and roles such as aftercare and training based on their ideas and passions. Very much in keeping with DCS’s model of care my employment experience has been one based on relationship & trust and I would highly recommend them to any prospective employee at any stage in their career.”
