Daffodil Care Services
Promoting the values of Therapeutic Child and Youth Care
Daffodil Care Services was established in response to an increased demand for residential and community based therapeutic services. We promote the values of therapeutic child and youth care in a safe environment where the young person and their family are at the centre of all planning, activities, decision-making and interventions.
We are committed to providing a continuum of care to Young People and to that end we have developed an extensive network of residential based services.
Parents Plus Programmes are practical, positive and evidence-based programmes which are ideal for parents and for adults working with Children and Young People, and follow international best-practice guidelines
Women who suffer from depression during and after pregnancy are often reluctant to admit to it for fear their baby will be taken into care.
Dr Krysia Lynch, chairwoman of the Association for Improvements in Maternity Services Ireland (AIMS), said the lack of supports tailored towards perinatal mental health means women face being admitted to general acute mental health units, separated from their newborn, if they admit to poor mental health.
